Frequently asked questions

Straight answers about how it works, what it costs, and what to expect.

Does this replace my receptionist?

Not necessarily. Ambivious can complement your existing team by handling calls when employees are busy, unavailable, or off the clock. It can also be configured as a more primary answering solution depending on how your business operates.

Can I keep my current business number?

In many cases, yes. Ambivious can be configured around an existing business phone setup so customers can continue calling the number they already know. The exact routing configuration depends on your current carrier and phone system and will be reviewed during onboarding.

What if nobody answers the call?

Ambivious is designed to help prevent valuable inbound opportunities from disappearing into voicemail. Depending on your phone configuration, the AI receptionist can handle incoming calls when your team cannot and capture the caller’s information for appropriate next steps.

What happens if someone hangs up?

The call ending does not necessarily mean the opportunity has to disappear. Depending on your plan and configuration, Ambivious can retain captured lead information and trigger an appropriate follow-up or recovery workflow. Automated messaging is used only where properly configured and permitted.

Can the AI book appointments?

Yes. The AI Booking Receptionist and Full AI Lead System can be configured to qualify callers and schedule appointments based on your business rules, services, calendar availability, and supported integrations.

What if I already have a CRM?

That’s fine. Ambivious does not automatically require you to replace your existing CRM. Where technically practical, we can configure the system to work with your existing tools. Integration availability and complexity are reviewed during onboarding.

Can I see my leads?

Yes. Depending on your plan and configuration, you can see relevant contacts, leads, opportunities, pipeline stages, appointments, conversations, and follow-up status. Access is set up so you see the parts of the system that matter for your service.

What happens if the AI doesn’t know an answer?

Ambivious is configured around approved information about your business. When a request falls outside that information or requires human attention, the system can be configured to capture the request, escalate it, or route the caller according to your business rules.

Can I change what the AI says?

Yes. Your system is customized around your business, including approved services, FAQs, hours, qualification questions, call handling rules, escalation procedures, and other relevant information. Updates can be made as your business changes.

How long does setup take?

Launch timing depends on your package, phone configuration, integrations, required registrations, and how quickly we receive your onboarding information. We’ll provide your expected launch timeline during onboarding.

Can it answer questions about my business?

Yes. It gives answers you’ve reviewed and approved, like hours, services, service area, and common policies.

What happens after hours?

It answers the same way, following your after-hours rules. For example, urgent calls can be flagged for on-call staff and everything else captured for the next business day.

Does it tell callers they’re talking to AI?

We recommend it always does. The greeting identifies it as a virtual assistant.

Is it for emergencies?

It can flag urgent calls for your team based on your rules, but it isn’t an emergency service. Callers with a life-threatening emergency should always call 911.

What do I pay at signup?

The setup fee plus your first month of service are due at signup. After that, your monthly service fee is billed every 30 days.

When does my monthly billing start?

Your first month of service is paid at signup along with your setup fee. Your next monthly service payment is due 30 days after signup and continues every 30 days thereafter unless the service is canceled.

Is there a contract?

No long-term contract is required. Service is billed monthly after your initial setup and first-month payment. You may cancel before your next billing cycle to avoid the next monthly service charge. Setup fees are non-refundable once implementation has begun.

Can I change plans later?

Yes. You can upgrade your plan as your business needs grow. If you downgrade, changes will take effect at the start of your next billing cycle. Additional setup fees may apply if the change requires significant new configuration, integrations, or implementation work.

What does the setup fee cover?

Your setup fee covers the initial configuration and customization of your Ambivious system for your business. Depending on your plan, this may include AI configuration, business information and FAQs, call handling rules, lead capture, qualification logic, calendar setup, workflows, integrations, testing, and launch preparation.

Is the setup fee refundable?

Setup fees cover the work required to configure, customize, integrate, and prepare your Ambivious system for launch. Setup fees are non-refundable once implementation has begun.

Is sales tax added?

Applicable sales tax and other required taxes, if any, will be added based on the customer’s location and the services purchased.

Are there additional usage fees?

Your plan includes the services outlined in your package. Unusually high call volume, messaging usage, premium integrations, or third-party service usage may result in additional charges. Any applicable usage terms or additional charges will be disclosed before they are incurred whenever practicable.

Are text messages included?

Automated text follow-up is included with the Full AI Lead System where properly configured and permitted. Usage limits or additional messaging charges may apply based on message volume.
